How does Waste to Water's BIO-EZ™ work?
The BIO-EZ™ works by providing the perfect environment for the proprietary microorganisms (BIO-HELPER™) to digest the food waste to an extent that the waste can be sewered to any sanitary sewer for further treatment. The unit does this automatically. The customer needs only to input food waste through either the main hopper or our proprietary, optional, integrated shredder.

What is BIO-HELPER™ and is it safe?
BIO-HELPER™ is 100% safe for human and animal contact. Our proprietary microorganisms are NOT genetically enhance and are found in nature. We have perfected a method of using millions more than would be found in nature. They are chosen to specialize in food waste disposal and food waste recycling.

What can and can't be processed?
Its easier to list what can't be processed. Corn Husks, Artichokes, Banana Leaves, Large bones, Liquids. Ideally, if you can eat it, so can the machine. With our optional integrated shredder, it can eat pits and small bones as well.

Is there an odor?
There is no offensive odor associated with the correct functioning of our units.

Can the unit be installed outside?
The unit can be installed outdoors. All incoming and outgoing plumbing must be insulated and the unit be covered from direct rain.

Does the unit require hot water or a water heater?

No. Our proprietary formula works at tap water temperatures. This increases the economy of use while mitigating odors.

What does continuous feed mean?
There is a visual reference that lets you know if the unit can accept more food waste. As long as there is available volume, you can put new food waste in the unit. There is no need to wait for any cycle to end or clean out to begin.

How often does the BIO-HELPER™ need replacement?
Our formula BIO-HELPER™ need to be inoculated or re-charged yearly. BIO-HELPER™ comes in 1lb water soluble bags that are put directly in the main hopper.

Is there any preventative maintenance required?
Our units are made in the US to exacting specifications. An annual check of the systems at the yearly inoculation should suffice. Some high volume customers can take advantage of an economic service plan offered by most of our dealers.

Is the discharge safe?
Absolutely. Although it is not safe to drink, the effluent contains water and organic material. It is safe to sewer through any sanitary sewer system and most septic units as well. Additional uses for this high strength effluent are under study now.
